This Privacy Policy (this “Privacy Policy ”) is by and among you and your company/business (“you ”) and the following entity as applicable, based on the region specified: Ijeoma Limited (Ijeoma Ltd) ( Ije) (collectively, ‘Ije’). For the sake of clarity and depending on the context, references to “Ijeoma Ltd’, ‘Ije’,” “we ,” “ our ” and “ us ” may also refer to the appropriate Ijeoma Ltd-affiliated contracting entity accordingly or Ijeoma Ltd collectively.

Personally Identifiable Information” means any information (i) that identifies or can be used to identify, contact, or locate the person to whom such information pertains, or (ii) from which identification or contact information of an individual person can be derived. This Privacy Policy applies to how we collect, use, and disclose your information across the Application.

If you see an undefined term in this Privacy Policy, it has the same definition as outlined in our Terms and Conditions.

By visiting our website, accessing our applications and/or services you agree to this Privacy Policy.

SCOPE
This notice applies to users of IJEOMA LTD'S services anywhere in the world, including users of IJEOMA LTD'S apps, websites, features or other services.

This notice describes how IJEOMA LTD, and its affiliates collect and use data. This notice applies to all IJEOMA LTD users globally, unless they use a service covered by a separate privacy notice. This notice specifically applies to:

  • Riders: individuals who request or receive transport and related services via their IJE account.
  • Drivers: individuals who provide transport to Riders individually or through partner transport companies.
  • Logistics Companies: Individuals or logistics companies who provide delivery services via IJE Partner account.
  • Order recipients: individuals who request or receive products and services for delivery or pick-up via their IJE Partner account. This includes individuals who use guest checkout features to access delivery or pick-up services without creating and/or logging in to their account.
  • Delivery persons: individuals who provide delivery services via IJE PARTNER APP

This notice also governs IJEOMA LTD'S other collections of data in connection with its services. For example, we may collect the contact information of owners or employees of Logistic companies or other merchants on the IJE APP platform; the contact information of individuals that manage and use accounts owned by customers; or data of individuals who start but do not complete their applications to be drivers, riders, business owners or delivery persons. All those subject to this notice are referred to as “users” in this notice.

  • Our privacy practices are subject to applicable laws in the places in which we operate. This means that we engage in the practices described in this notice in a particular country or region only if permitted under the laws of those places.

Information We Collect

There are categories of information that we collect. We collect a variety of information from visitors to the website. We may also collect information by phone or by paper that identifies you as well as when you visit our website, and some you provide to us when registering or filling out a form, creating a transaction or communicating with us.

Information Collected Automatically

Whenever you visit our website, our web servers automatically collect non-personal information such as the domain name of the internet access provider, the internet protocol address used to connect the computer to the internet, the average time spent on our website, pages viewed, information searched for, access times, and other relevant statistics.

Information you Provide Us

If you provide us with personal information by registering for an account or contacting us (phone call or paper correspondence/documents), we collect that personal information. For example, if you register on our website, we collect your name, e-mail address and password. If you initiate or commence a transaction, we collect the personal information you provide us such as your billing and payment information. If you contact our customer service agents by phone call or paper correspondence/documents, you may also provide us with personal information that we collect.

IJEOMA LTD collects data:  provided by users to IJEOMA LTD such as during account
 creation created during use of our services, such as location, app usage and device data
from other sources, such as other users or account owners, business partners, vendors, insurance and financial solution providers and governmental authorities

IJEOMA LTD collects the following data:

1. Data provided by users. This includes:

  • User profile information: We collect data when users create or update their IJEOMA LTD accounts, or place orders. This may include their name, email, phone number, login name and password, address, profile picture, payment or banking information (including related payment verification information), driving license and other government-issued documents (which may include identification numbers as well as date of birth, gender and photo). This also includes vehicle or insurance information of drivers and delivery persons, emergency contact information and user settings to provide services using IJEOMA LTD apps. 
  • Enhanced background check information (drivers and delivery persons): This includes information submitted during the driver/delivery person application process, such as driver history or criminal record (where permitted by law), license status, known aliases and prior addresses, and right to work. This information may be collected by an authorized vendor on IJEOMA LTD’s behalf.
  • Identity verification photos: This includes photos of users (such as selfies) and/or their government-issued identifications (such as driving licenses or passports). Such photos may be used to verify a user’s identity, such as through facial verification technologies. Please see the section titled “Using your Personal Information” for more information regarding how user photos are used for safety and security purposes, including identity verification.
  • Demographic data: We may collect demographic data about users, such as date of birth/age, gender, or occupation, when required for certain IJEOMA LTD services or programmes.We may also infer demographic data from other data collected from users. For example, we may infer a user’s gender based on their first name to enable safety features, such as the Women Rider Preference, or to display personalized ads for third-party products or services. See the section titled "Using your Personal Information" below for more information.
    We may also collect demographic data through user surveys.
  • User content: We collect the data submitted by users when they contact IJEOMA LTD customer support (including via phone chat or video conferencing tools); provide ratings or feedback for other users, logistics companies, restaurants, or merchants; or otherwise contact IJEOMA LTD. This may include photographs, or audio or video recordings submitted by users in connection with a customer support request. This also includes metadata relating to the method you use to communicate with IJEOMA LTD.In certain jurisdictions, users can record the audio and/or video of their trips through an in-app feature or using a dashcam (soon to be integrated). In-app recordings are encrypted and stored on users’ devices and are only shared with IJEOMA LTD if submitted by the users in connection with safety incidents. This clause will take effect as soon as the in-app recordings are integrated on the IJE Mobile Apps.
  • 2. Data created during use of our services. This includes: 

    • Location data (driver and delivery person): We collect precise or approximate location data from drivers’ and delivery persons’ mobile devices when the IJEOMA LTD app is running in the foreground (app open and on-screen) or background (app open but not on-screen).
    • Location data (riders and order recipients). We collect precise or approximate location information from riders’ and order recipients’ mobile devices if they enable us to do so via their device settings.
      IJEOMA LTD collects such data from the time a trip or order is requested until it is finished, and any time the app is running in the foreground (app open and on-screen).
      Riders and Order Recipients may use the IJEOMA LTD apps without enabling collection of location data from their mobile devices. However, this may affect certain features in the IJEOMA LTD apps. For example, a rider who has not enabled precise location data will have to manually enter their pick-up address.
      In addition, precise location data collected from a driver’s device during a trip is linked to the rider’s account, even if the rider has not enabled precise location data to be collected from their device. This data is used for purposes such as safety, receipt generation, customer support, fraud detection, insurance, and litigation.
    • Transaction information: We collect transaction information related to the use of our services, including the type of services requested or provided; trip or order details (such as date and time, requested pick-up and drop-off addresses, distance travelled and items ordered); and payment transaction information (such as merchant's name and location, amount charged and payment method). We also associate a user’s name with that of anyone who uses their promotion code.
    • Usage data: We collect data on how users interact with our services. This includes access dates and times, app features or pages viewed, browser type, app crashes and other system activity.
    • Device data: We collect data about the devices used to access our services, including the hardware models, device IP address or other unique device identifiers, operating systems and versions, software, preferred languages, advertising identifiers, device motion data and mobile network data.
    • Communications data: We collect data regarding phone, text or in-app communications between users that are enabled through IJEOMA LTD'S apps. This includes date and time, as well as the content of text. We may also collect the content of phone calls solely where users are notified in advance that the call may be recorded.

    2.1 Personal Data about our customers is an important part of our business and we shall only use your personal data (including BVN where applicable) for the following purposes and shall not keep such personal data longer than is necessary to fulfill these purposes:

    • To help us verify your identity
    • To help us process transaction and verify receipt of payment for Services.
    • To help us identify accounts and services which you could have from us from time to time.
    • Enable us to operate, protect, improve, and optimize IJEOMA LTD by carrying out marketing analysis and customer profiling (including transactional information), conduct research, including creating statistical and testing information.
    • Personalize or otherwise customize your experience by, among other things, ranking search results or showing ads based on your search, booking history, and preferences.
    • Provide an excellence customer service
    • Send you service or support messages, such as updates, security alerts, and account notifications.
    • Verify or authenticate information or identifications provided by you (such as to verify your address or compare your identification photo to another photo you provide).
    • To help us to administer and to contact you about improved administration of any accounts, listings and booking services we have provided in the past.
    • To help prevent and detect fraud or loss.
    • Conduct investigations and risk assessments
    • Comply with our legal obligations
    • To allow us to contact you in any way (including e-mail, telephone, visit, and text or multimedia messages) about services offered by us unless you have previously asked us not to do so.

    2.2 We may monitor and record communications with you (including phone conversations and emails) for quality assurance and compliance. We will not disclose your personal data to any third-party except in accordance with this privacy policy.

    3. Disclosure

  • 3.1 We will not sell, publish, disclose, or rent to third-parties your personally identifiable information collected at our website, through our servers or otherwise obtained by us, other than to provide our services and as set forth in this privacy policy.
  • 3.2 The information you provide during any transaction such as your billing, Receiver’s details, and pay-out information shall be considered confidential information. We will not disclose this information to outside parties without the written consent of all the parties to any transaction.
  • 3.3 We may share your information with other companies such as your banking institution and with the other party to your transaction. We may also request information about you from third-parties to provide our services.
  • 3.4 We will notify you as soon as we become aware of a harmful data breach which may result in a risk of your rights and freedom.
  • 3.5 You have the right to request an erasure of your data at any time.
  • 3.6 We will notify you if we are transferring your data.
  • 3.7 You may request at any time that we halt further dissemination of your data or cease to use your data.
  • 3.8 If you submit content in a public forum or social media post, or use a similar feature on https://ijeomaltd.com , that content is publicly visible.
  • 3.9 Required by Law We may disclose Personally Identifiable Information if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to (a) conform with the requirements of the law or comply with legal process served on us, or (b) act in urgent circumstances to protect the personal safety of users of our service or members of the public. To the extent practicable and legally permitted, we will attempt to advise you prior to any such disclosure, so that you may seek a protective order or other relief limiting such disclosure.
  • 4. Communications from Our Site

  • 4.1 Pursuant to you registering on our site, you will receive emails that confirm specific actions you requested. You will receive notifications confirming your registration, the successful verification of email addresses and bank accounts, if required, and confirmation of successful transactions. You will also receive progress updates on the status of your transactions. These are transactional notifications that you cannot opt out of receiving, as they are in place to protect the security of your account and your personal information. We may also send you responses to emails you send us, if appropriate or applicable.
  • 4.2 From time to time, we will also send user surveys, requests for user feedback regarding user experience and site operations or marketing offers from us or from us on behalf of our marketing partners. The completion of these surveys or requests for feedback or acceptance of any offer is strictly voluntary. If you do not wish to receive these offers, surveys, or user feedback emails, please opt out in any offer email you receive from us.

  • 5.1 You affirm that you are over the age of majority and have the right to contract in your own name, and that you have read the above authorization and fully understand its contents.

  • 6.1 We use cookies to identify you as a User and make your user experience easier, customize our services, content, and advertising; help you ensure that your account security is not compromised, mitigate risk and prevent fraud; and to promote trust and safety on our website. Cookies allow our servers to remember your account log-in information when you visit our website, IP addresses, date, and time of visits, monitor web traffic and prevent fraudulent activities.
